‘Phone zombies’: The dangers of using your phone on the street

Andrew of East Perth sent 6PR Breakfast this image (above) of how Bangkok handles smartphone zombies.

Professor Gary Martin, CEO of the Australian Institute of Management, said that people should watch out for those pedestrians on the path that text and walk, which he has penned as ‘twalking’.

He told Gareth Parker it is a real problem, particularly in busy pedestrian areas.

“It is people being addicted to their phones,” he said onĀ 6PR Breakfast.

“It is out of control, it is dangerous,

“We don’t often talk about a solution to it, yet it is rife.”
