Pharmacists gain Doctor title, acknowledging their vital place in healthcare

Last year, changes to the Australian Qualifications Framework made it possible for pharmacists with a level 9 Master’s degree to use the title ‘doctor’.

Andrew Ngeow, President of the WA branch of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, told Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that currently, WA universities do not provide the required qualification.
“All universities are working with the AQF as to what the requirements are around that degree so that they can offer that course,” he said.
