A petition is underway to introduce Baby Safe Haven boxes to Western Australia.

Initiative supporter Brooke Baldock told 6PR Mornings host Simon Beaumont that these temperature-controlled units, already in use globally, allow mothers to anonymously surrender infants.

“The doors are locked and the baby is taken to hospital to be cared for without the mother fearing prosecution or judgment”, she said.
