Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says Bert Newton’s wife Patti has met with state officials to plan the star’s state funeral.

He told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast that it will be held at St Patrick’s cathedral in Melbourne with a cap of 500 people due to COVID restrictions.

The funeral won’t be televised at this stage, but there are plans for it to be live-streamed.
