PETA spokesperson on the major issues surrounding the Brisbane Bronco’s mascot

The Brisbane Broncos have ignored calls from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to change their name and mascot.
PETA spokesperson Sascha Camilli told 6PR Breakfast she understood it was an unusual ask, but claims there are two major issues.
“Animals just don’t belong in sports arenas, it’s a place with loud noises, crowds … and there is an issue with the ‘bucking broncos’ imagery that glorifies rodeos,’ she said.

6PR Breakfast host Millsy proceeded to ask Ms Camilli some follow-up questions regarding PETA’s stance on other instances of animals being used as mascots.
“So you wouldn’t support the West Coast Eagles having a live eagle, would you?” he questioned.
