It has been revealed that Australian’s have been pressing the pedestrian crossing button for almost no reason after Guardian Online reported the story over the weekend.

We were keen to find out whether West Australian intersections also utilize “placebo” buttons, so we invited Mainroads Manager of Traffic Management Services – Jerko Ostoic onto the Afternoon program.
