An 89 year old man admitted to a Perth hospital with a severe chest infection coughing blood, waited eight and a half hours in emergency before he was forced to go home without being seen by a doctor.

The mans daughter Kim told 6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett, the Perth hospital system is appalling and there needs to be changes.

“If McGowan thinks this is ok, nurses keep on fighting,” said Kim.

Kim said her father-in-law was went through two bottles of oxygen while waiting to be seen.
