Perth to host opening fixture of 2027 Rugby World Cup

Perth will kick off the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup with the opening game scheduled for the first of October.
Sydney will host the final, both semis and the third place play-off in November, Brisbane will host two quarter-finals and some games will also be played in Melbourne Adelaide, Newcastle and Townsville.
RugbyWA CEO Simon Taylor spoke to 6PR Radio Perth Live presenter Oliver Peterson and said it gave him “goosebumps” to think as a rugby supporter the state would be hosting the opening fixture of the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
