Perth mum fighting for funds

Article image for Perth mum fighting for funds

A Perth mum has been doing sausage sizzles to try to raise money to get life saving surgery, but she still needs another $66,000 for a $100,000 operation on a brain tumour.

Rachel Hayden and her family are also trying to sell their home and have tried to access Superannuation, but red tape is halting the process.

The operation can only be performed by a handful of surgeons around the world and is very risky.

“It’s very confronting and I’m very scared but it’s something that I’m willing to do,”
“I’ve got five kids, three small kids at home and they need their mum,” she told Steve and Baz on 6PR Breakfast.
