A Perth mum says she is facing 26 days in hotel quarantine despite never leaving the state.

Fiona called Oliver Peterson on Perth LIVE from her room at the Novotel, where she has been since her teenage daughter returned from a sporting event in Brisbane nearly two weeks ago.

Fiona was told she needed to stay with her daughter but her 14 day quarantine period would only begin once her daughter returned a negative test.
