Perth Live has announced Ian Evans as the latest Word on the Street winner.

Ian was on Rottnest Island when he tragically witnessed a seaplane crash that claimed three lives and left four others injured.

Listeners are 6PR’s eyes and ears on the street, and Ian’s firsthand account helped keep the community informed during a deeply distressing event.

In recognition of his contribution, Ian has been awarded $10,000 as the Word on the Street winner.
