It’s been revealed that Perth has the most garage sales per capita each year than any other city in Australia.

There are around 1600 garage sales happening in Perth over this and next weekend.

It comes on the back of the Garage Sale Trail campaign, a movement that encourages Australians to take a step towards circular living.

Co-Founder of Garage Sale Trail Andrew Vadler described Perth as the “spiritual home” of the garage sale.

“Obviously there’s a lot of good stuff, and people in Perth are conscious of passing on what they don’t want, to someone else who does want it and making a few dollars in the process,” he told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast.

“And that’s why I think Garage Sale Trail has increase in popularity over the years, and kind of grown from one little community event in a suburb in Sydney to right across the country.”
