Perth Glory’s ownership wrapped up by Melbourne-based consortium

Like the phoenix, Perth Glory rises again.

WA’s premier A-League soccer team has been bought by a Melbourne-based consortium headed up by Primeland Group Chairman Robert Brij and his business partner John Nekic, who will become the new Glory Chairman.

Mr Nekic told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast he understood Perth is a different beast to the Eastern States when it comes to sports and promotion, but that he had the passion and drive to bring fans back.

“We understand that we’re paying a lot of money for a club that’s losing money, so I say this hand-on-heart; if it was just about the money we wouldn’t do it,” he said.
