Mirrabooka Detectives have charged two men, aged 19 and 20, for allegedly firing a potato gun at men riding e-scooters near Mettams Pool, causing serious facial injuries to one of the riders, who had to have his eye surgically removed.

Two men in their 20s were travelling south on the City of Stirling’s orange rental scooters along the footpath on West Coast Drive in Trigg about 9.30pm when the occupants of a vehicle allegedly threw, or fired a potato at the scooters, injuring a 28-year-old man.

Police Commissioner Col Blanch told 6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker in his regular Wednesday segment the victims were simply “enjoying their day”.

“The detectives have done an excellent job on this case… CCTV, number plate recognition, phone data, an excellent bit of work to track down these two,” he said.
