A Perth builder with more than 20 years of experience has revealed to 6PR’s Mornings host Gary Adshead he’s been waiting five months to receive his contractor’s licence so he can set up his own building business.

Troy – who doesn’t want to reveal his last name – was told it would take just eight weeks for the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety to approve or knock back his licence request.

“I can’t commit to anything or take on anything substantial until I have that licence,” he said.
