West Coast Eagles’ player Liam Ryan was targeted with racial comments by trolls on an online post over the weekend, but the AFL community has rallied together to support the Eagles forward.

Fellow forward Josh Kennedy says something needs to be done about people who anonymously post offensive comments.

“It’s disgusting what goes on, it’s 2019 and this stuff is still going on. I think the biggest thing that comes out of this is education.”
“People don’t understand what that word means to indigenous people, it’s more than name calling,” Kennedy told 6PR Breakfast.

“The accountability of people behind social media is something that needs to step up as well and being able link accounts to people so they can be accountable for their comments.”
