Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the second Ashes test in Adelaide after being classified as a close contact of a positive COVID-19 case.

It’s been reported Cummins was at an Adelaide restaurant on Wednesday night when a patron at the next table was found to be positive.

The Test will still go ahead, with Michael Neser making his Test debut as a replacement for Cummins.

Steve Smith will also return as captain.
