Gerry Coleman and his son Ben were bound for Bali to complete a climb of Mount Agung for charity last month, but only one of them made it to the popular holiday island.

Ben had his passport confiscated at Perth Airport because the edges were frayed, even though each of the pages was legible.

It seems Ben isn’t alone – Wildcats captain Damian Martin had a similar thing happen to him recently with water damage preventing him from travelling to Bali with his family. 

Gerry Coleman spoke to 6PR’s Chris Ilsley about his son’s ‘heavy-handed’ experience with authorities.
