Parental instincts reportedly invaluable in emergencies

A new study lends support to the theory that parents’ instincts about their child’s health in hospital provide valuable information.

Michael Page, AMA WA President, explained to Perth Today host Simon Beaumont that emergency departments are increasingly considering a parent’s gut feeling about their child’s condition, which he believes can sometimes be a more reliable indicator than traditional checks.
“If a parent is worried about their child, it does need to be taken seriously, and it does need to be properly investigated,” he said.
