The Cook Government’s revitalised Banned Drinks Register has run into significant roadblocks three months in, with doctors refusing to refer patients to the system and liquor stores handing out pamphlets instructing employees on how to avoid being attacked.

Liquor Stores Association CEO Peter Peck told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the people flagged are not potential nuisances, but have been violent or disruptive on numerous occassions.

On a number of occasions, I’ve been told by the Department, ‘Well your people will hand out the pamphlets, and that way they will receive therapeutic services’,” Mr Peck said.

And I’ve said, ‘Are you going to supply them a ‘Punch Me in the Face’ t-shirt at the same time?'”
