A marriage proposal capped a memorable night for two NSW rugby fans in Perth last night.

Blues supporter Adam got down on bended knee and proposed to his girlfriend Sammi during game two of the State of Origin at Optus Stadium.

Adam told 6PR Breakfast stand-in host Mark Gibson he decided to propose to his partner of a year after the happy couple, who met last year at game two, travelled to the west from Queensland.

“It’s a bit of a plan I’ve been working on for a little while. This was our anniversary so I thought what better time to do it,” Adam said.

When his partner went to the bathroom, Adam let fans around him know of his plan, and organised for some of them to hold up a proposal banner he made.
