Anthony Albanese is confident Labor’s candidate for Pearce will win the seat.

The seat, previously occupied by former Attorney-General Christian Porter, will be hotly contested in the federal election.

The Opposition Leader said Tracey Roberts was a “local champion”, as the City of Wanneroo Mayor.

“She’s been on the council since 2003,” he told Larry Graham on 6PR Mornings.

Wanneroo councillor Linda Aitken has named as the Liberal Party’s preferred replacement for Mr Porter.

He said he was “very confident about Tracey Roberts winning Pearce.”

Mr Albanese also said he will be on the “first flight” to get into Western Australia when the borders re-open on February 5.
