The Australian Nursing Federation will potentially receive a fine of $350,000 while its State Secretary will receive one of $10,000 in the biggest union punishment in state history.

ANF nurses walked off the job last November against the State Government’s wishes as the Industrial Relations Commission threatened to suspend the union’s registration.

ANF State Secretary Janet Reah told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR Mornings the decision set a troubling precedent in regards to union activity.

“It’s sending a message to the other unions in this state that when walking off the job or going on strike, they’re going to have to very carefully consider their actions going forward,” Ms Reah said.
