After two years of grueling renovation and restoration work, small town pub the Darkan Hotel located about 200km south east of Perth is set to reopen.

Darkan Hotel Community Project Karen Harrington spoke to 6PR Afternoons host Julie-Anne Sprague and said the close-knit community banded together to resurrect the local pub after it closed its doors in 2022.

“It’s been a massive learning curve as most of us are farmers – we don’t know much about renovating a pub or running one,” Ms Harrington said.
