New Year’s Eve revellers will have access to free public transport from midnight tonight in Perth.

Public Transport Authority’s David Hynes said they have “scaled back” on plans with the cancellation of numerous events and celebrations across the city.

“We are still providing the extra services,” he said on 6PR Breakfast.

There will be extra bus and train services running into the city, as well as more services from midnight.

Trains will run throughout the night.

The Mandurah line remains closed for now between Perth and Aubin Grove.
