The State Government has released the Your Safety in Our Hands in Hospital report which the Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) says highlights the grim reality of staff shortages in the Western Australian health system.

ANF state secretary Janet Reah told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live is hoping the report will encourage the government to make changes.

“Sentinal events have doubled over the last five years this government’s been in power… this is due to a lack of staff,” said Ms Reah.

“The government really can’t hide behind Covid… the government has its head in the sand.”
