New polling indicates that three-quarters of Australians believe the national flag should be retained.

 Daniel Wild of the Institute of Public Affairs told Perth Live host Oliver Peterson he was encouraged by the poll results. 

“Across our nation, we are going through a period of social dislocation and fracturing, so I think it’s more important than ever before to remind Australians that there’s a lot more that unites us than divides us,” he said.
