The government has announced changes to funeral pricing laws, including the compulsory detailed breakdown of funeral costs.

Commerce Minister Sue Ellery told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live the changes will help make the industry more transparent and provide costs upfront.

“Funeral directors will have to publish their prices on websites so that consumers can do their own research and not feel pressured,” said Ms Ellery.

“It’s about much greater transparency for all funeral goods and services supplied.”
