The first impression of The Karalee on Preston was its homely feeling, like stepping into a beautiful home overlooking the river rather than a pub.

During the Swan Draught Pub of the Week review, Chris Masten told 6PR Drive host Russel Collett he appreciated the simple menu and could not go past what is said to be Western Australia’s best steak sandwich.

Masten said the meal was made even better by the beautiful surroundings.

“I forget how beautiful some of our pubs are and some of the views we’ve got, like we’ve got some natural beauty in this state and a lot of these older-style pubs I suppose you call them have got that A1 spot and Karalee is definitely one of those”, he said.
