Nationals leader David Littleproud has labelled Labor’s live sheep export phase-out panel a “sham”, alleging the State Government gave late notice over the weekend for town hall meetings in Western Australia this week, making it almost impossible for farmers and industry to attend.

Mr Littleproud told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the panel event was invitation-only, and that the entire panel would be hand-picked to ensure support for the government’s plans.

“They’ve announced this on a weekend, for these meetings to take p[lace this week,” he said.

“For your listeners in Perth, let me tell you – people in the industry are not waiting for meetings to be devised with less than a week’s notice.”
