‘Naked rampage’ and imam spitting proof of Australian tourist anger

Two recent events involving Australians – an imam being spat on in the face, and an allegedly drunken “naked rampage” through a Muslim village – have reinforced Indonesian concerns over how Australian act in the island country.
Noosa resident Bodhi Mani Risby-Jones is potentially facing 40 lashes and five years in prison after he reportedly went berserk in Lantik Village, injuring multiple locals.
Brenton Craig Abbas Abdullah McArthur is similarly facing punishment after spitting in the face if an imam at a West java Mosque.
Indonesia Institute founder Ross Taylor told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR MorningsĀ it’s not a good look for Australia, but there is space for recompense.
