You may never have heard the name Benjamin Dawkins, but he has been a Labor candidate in the 2021 state election, and continues to have political ambitions.

Dawkins is a lawyer with a profile built fighting community-based issues on developments and other matters.

He is currently on Labor’s Upper House ticket for the South West Region and is a good chance of getting the job when Alannah MacTiernan retires… but there’s a problem for WA Premier Mark McGowan.

Press PLAY to hear Gary’s editorial on Mornings

Dawkins is facing 43 matters relating to allegations he has breached family violence restraining orders, and is due to appear on December 20, but his lawyer John Hammond told 6PR Mornings his client denies the allegations and the matters currently listed for court should not impede his political ambition.
