Disgraced MP Phil Edman believes there needs to be more training for parliamentarians in the use of parliamentary funds.

This comes after Mr Edman pled guilty to hindering a Corruption and Crime investigation into parliamentary funds.

Former speaker for WA Parliament Michael Sutherland told 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead parliamentarians are clearly told how to spend their electoral allowance.

“It’s supposed to be spent on your work in the constituency,” said Mr Sutherland.

“There’s no doubt the money was never a part of your salary.” He continued.
