Mother faces court on murder charges over children’s deaths in Port Hedland fire
The mother of three children killed during a Port Hedland house fire has appeared in Perth Magistrate’s Court charged with their murders.
Margaret Hawke, 36, made her first appearance on Tuesday morning over the allegations, as well as one count of criminal damage by fire.
Her three children, aged five months, seven and 10, were killed in the Pilbara house fire on July 19.
“She was dressed in a tracksuit, wearing a face mask due to COVID protocols and acknowledged with nods the charges,” 6PR news reporter Jake Battrick told Mornings host Liam Bartlett.
