Most deaths could be prevented: Firefighters issue urgent warning

Fire and emergency services personnel are urging people to install and check fire alarms, as statistics show a staggering amount of fire-related deaths could have been prevented by working alarms.
Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner Darren Klem told Jamie Burnett on Perth LiveĀ he was still surprised at the lack of housing properly equipped with smoke alarms.
“There’s not only the terrible impact on life, but also there’s the opportunity for early intervention into fires,” he said.
