Momentum key for Tigers

Article image for Momentum key for Tigers

Richmond need to make the most of any momentum they have in Friday night’s match against West Coast, according to senior coach Damien Hardwick.

The Tigers have won their last three matches at Domain Stadium, but come in on the back of a 36-point loss to Adelaide and a last-gasp one-point loss to Collingwood.

Harwick pointing towards a failure to capitalise on momentum in both of those games.

‘Momentum in footy it’s incredible at the moment,’ he said.

‘Funnily enough versus Adelaide last week we had all the momentum early and didn’t make the most of our chances.

‘Our ball use across the arc was relatively poor. Adelaide go down the other end and kick four goals.

‘Were floundering at two goals three (behinds) all of sudden they’re four goals straight and the pressure starts to build. If you don’t take the momentum when you should it hurts.’
