Students at the University of Michigan have designed an app where users can request a friend to ‘virtually’ walk them home.

The Companion app enables users to request a friend or family member to keep them company virtually and track their journey home via GPS on an online map.

Founder Katie Reiner explained how the app works to 6PR Breakfast this morning.
