Mitchell saw delisting coming

Kane Mitchell says he knew he was going to be delisted at the end of Port Adelaide’s season.

Mitchell won the 2012 Sandover medal and was drafted by Port Adelaide with the fifth pick of the 2013 rookie draft.

He played 35 games but knew his time was up on Port’s list when he was dropped after their loss to GWS.

‘I knew probably a month out my time at Port Adelaide was done,’ the two-time WAFL Premiership player with Claremont said.

‘After I got dropped (from the GWS game) Kenny said it’s going to be difficult for you to hang around.

‘That was the good thing about it. It gave me time to prepare.’
