Missing boy found in backyard pool after search tragically dies overnight

A six-year-old boy has died in hospital overnight after he went missing in Booragoon yesterday.

There was a frantic search for Joey yesterday afternoon. Later he was found with critical injuries and was rushed to hospital, but unfortunately, he didn’t survive his injuries.

Zarisha Bradley, 6PR and Nine News reporter, told 6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker the property where the child was found was very close to his home.

“It is just a three-minute drive from his family home, so whether he simply wandered off and fallen into the backyard pool and unfortunately drowned, we don’t know the circumstances around that.”

His death is not being treated as suspicious.
