A proposal to increase the standard size of parking bays by 20cm to cater for big cars has received strong support from the community.

Dr Milad Haghani, a road safety expert from the University of Melbourne, agreed with 6PR Breakfast show hosts Millsy and Karl that, in Western Australia, the proposal is a valid one.

“If the owners of bigger cars are paying more registration fees, then yes, they are entitled to more services,” he said.
