Dockers star Luke Ryan says he panicked when he saw cameras at Fremantle headquarters ahead of David Mundy’s retirement announcement on Monday.

“I remember walking into the lecture theater and seeing cameras at the back and thinking ‘oh no someone’s retiring, or someone’s in big trouble’,” he told Gareth Parker in his regular Thursday segment on 6PR Breakfast.

Ryan said the club hoped to send Mundy (pictured above with Ryan) off in style this year, but it had been a weird couple of days since his retirement announcement.

“About two nights ago, my car got broken into and then that same night my fence blew over,” he said.

“There was nothing gone in the car, I had a little bit of cash in there and some Freo clothes, hats.. it might’ve been a West Coast supporter, because nothing was stolen.”
