Senior Sergeant Steve Walters joined Mick Colliss and Michael Genovese, fill in hosts on 6PR Breakfast, to discuss what’s actually legal and illegal while driving on WA’s roads.

“Can I wear thongs while driving?” Mick asked Sergeant Walters.

“Yes.” Sergeant Walters replied.

“Mick likes to wear thongs no matter where he is, so that’s good,” Michael said.

  1. If you’re driving, and a passenger shows you their phone, is it legal to look at it?

  2. Can you drink or eat hot food when you’re driving?

  3. Is it legal to throw fruit (eg apple core, peach seed) out the window?

  4. Is it legal to drive with a dog on your lap?

  5. Can you wear thongs while driving?

  6. Can you wear headphones while driving?
