Author, sports commentator, modern day poet and 6PR Breakfast fill in host Mick Colliss, is on a mission to cancel the Olympics.

“Some people just want to see the world burn but you just want to see the Olympics burn, is that right?” Michael Genovese asked Mick.

Mick explained his stand by using Japan as an example, who spent $19 billion when hosting the Olympics in 2020.

“It’s no longer about the athletes, it’s driven by greed, it’s all about the corporations and the blazer brigades and they want that to continue,” Mick said.

“The costs… like they’re talking at the moment that Brisbane is going to be $5 billion.”
