Children who have access to a smart phone before the age of 14, could face serious mental and physical health risks according to experts.

A whistleblower from Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is warning she’s concerned about over-exposure to the social media sites.

The former product manager says algorithms and notifications are fuelling anxiety, sleep deprivation and addiction.

Senior lecturer in the School of Psychology at Deakin University Dr Sharon Horwood told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR Mornings parents have to be aware it’s not the devices causing the problems, but the content they access through the devices.
