Max Hitchins spends 400 hours each year studying everything to do with the Melbourne Cup.

Known as ‘Melbourne Cup Max,’ he has predicted 27 winners in the past 33 years.

Hitchins told Millsy on 6PR Afternoons that he set a goal 33 years ago to know more about the Melbourne Cup than anyone else in Australia.

“I have a system that I developed 33 years ago,” he said.

“I follow every race around the world that has any connection to the Melbourne Cup.

“I don’t make my final selections until the morning of the Cup because anything can happen.

However Hitchens gave Millsy three horses for him to keep an eye on for tomorrow.
