A 14,000-seat redevelopment of the historic Fremantle Oval has been in the works for years as part of multiple projects looking to revitalise the centre of Fremantle ahead of the City’s bicentenary in 2029.

Dockers CEO Simon Garlick and City of Fremantle Mayor, Hannah Fitzhardinge have approached the Albanese government for federal funding of the iconic venue’s redevelopment.

Mayor Fitzhardinge joined Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live to reveal the City’s plan for the rundown venue.
