Matt Wright denies wrongdoing, heads to NT after arrest warrant
Reality star and crocodile wrangler Matt Wright plans to “vigorously” defend all charges against him after a warrant was issued for his arrest yesterday.
The 43-year-old is wanted in relation to a fatal helicopter crash in the Northern Territory that killed his fellow cast member, Chris “Willow” Wilson.
Wright was seen at Sydney Airport this morning with his family, believed to be travelling to the Northern Territory to face various charges, including destroying evidence after the crash.
His lawyers said the reality star “strenuously denies any wrongdoing”.
The pilot, Sebastian Robinson, suffered serious spinal injuries in the crash.
It is understood Mr Wright’s actions before and after the crash were being investigated by police.
He was one of four people who flew to the scene in another helicopter following the crash, two of whom have already been charged with various offences in relation to the matter.
Police will allege Mr Wright tampered with evidence at the crash site and attempted to have Mr Robinson falsify records.
He is expected to be charged with several offences, including perverting the course of justice, destruction of evidence, fabricating evidence, interfering with witnesses and two counts of unlawful entry.
