The Matildas have won their first of three round-robin matches in Perth, two- nil to Iran.

Captain Sam Kerr was benched but eventually took to the field 65 minutes in.

Steph Catley sent a lower corner to find Mary Fowler who played to Kerr, who scored Australia’s second goal to the delight the home crowd.

Sports reporter Mark Foreman told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast they didn’t play at their best, but did enough to get the job done.

Mr Foreman also discussed England’s collapse at the Cricket World Cup; Josh Corbett’s future; and new developments in the AFL draft picks.
