Marathon runner destroys world record with 150 marathons in 150 days

It was cheers, tears and pure relief for Erchana Murray-Bartlett after she crossed the finish line and completed a record-breaking 150th marathon in 150 days yesterday.
Starting from Cape York in far North Queensland and finishing on the Tan track in Melbourne about 6pm on Monday, the determined runner clocked an impressive 6330 kilometres in just under six months.
Erchana Murray-Bartlett, Marathon runner and world record breaker told Millsy and Karl onĀ 6PR Breakfast, that it was a childhood dream of hers to run the length of Australia.
“I always planned to do it in my own leisurely pace but I had all this fitness and drive in 2019 – but when the world shutdown for lock down I had this itch to do something big and I remembered this childhood dream,” Ms Murray-Bartlett said.

“I would post on social media and say team i’m feeling pretty down and the next morning there would be 30 people to run with me, the supports been unbelievable.”
