The City of Mandurah council claim they have been left to follow a 60-day legal process and pay to clean up the site leased by the proprietors of the King Carnival.

CEO of the City of Mandurah Casey Mihovilovich says a legal agreement stated the proprietors were responsible for clearing the site.

“We were very clear at the time that it was their responsibility to do so, and because they have failed to do that, the city has come in and has to undertake the work to make sure it is a safe site,” she told Simon Beaumont.

Ms Mihovilovich also says the council will take legal action to recover those costs.
